For your consideration is my beloved 1985 Corvette which I am auctioning to pay for a mortgage. This was the second year of the C4 body and the first year of the L98 engine which was rated at 230 hp and 330 lb/ft of torque. It also has the final drive ratio which gave it a true top speed of 150mph. The car is very strong and is a joy to drive, especially on account of its new transmission. Below is a detailed walkaround and list of minor faults and repairs I have done. I ve owned this car since 2007 but I ve known it and driven it occasionally since 1997. A doctor friend of mine was the previous owner. He bought it in 1988 from a lady driver who was the first owner, so I am the third owner. When I bought it it was a dream come true. I don t have a garage but it was garaged up until 2007, which is 80% of its life. After I bought it I took it to a garage gave it a multi-point inspection and didn t find any major issues. I have spent over $7,000 on renovations, the most important of which is a new transmission. (I can show you the receipt.) It has mostly been a Sunday car for me, and so I have only added 6,000 miles to it. It has passed all its smog inspections except one - apparently when they hooked it up to the computer the cooling fan fuse chose to fail at that precise moment, but they swapped it out and it passed with room to spare. The ac compressor stopped working last year after I had to unmount it to replace the water pump. I think I just jammed the clutch but I don t have the tools to do much about it. Before that point the ac was ice cold. The cruise control needs some maintenance. There is a minute power drain which required me to install a battery isolator switch. Now the car can literally park for 3-4 weeks and it will start up on the first turn of the starter motor. Most other items are working great, including the pop-up headlights, the power windows and the remote trunk release. The electronic dashboard which is a high failure item on the C4 is working fine. The tires are the summer weather tread type and have less than 3,000 miles of wear and have never endured a burnout. The engine is strong and does not overheat even when pushed. The car has no leaks of any kind. The coolant and oil have recently been flushed. (I always use Mobil 1 synthetic.) I have never track raced this car and neither did the previous owner. I am a non smoker. The car has never been in an accident. I get 24 mpg on the freeway and 17 mpg on the streets. I have removed the interior carpets. I have put in new Corvette floor mats in the foot wells and the trunk space. The wheels are the original 16
